Coded language, thought, action
Evaluated in domestic yet foreign tongues
Utilized to deny equilibrium
To distort an alternate view, desire, purpose
Intellectual stagnation evident in the impotent
minds that espouse sterile thoughts
that are imposed on fertile and desiring minds and bodies
An oxymoron in reality for the rebellious insurgent other
Merely tokenized and exploited for
goals not of her/his mission
Institutionalized in a state of being
shackled, hindered, repressed
Contemporary days are re-invented
for classical purposes:

Education

Contemporary, shackle:
The usage of these two words in the same context speak volume, as I read this poem for the third time I find myself reflecting on the contemporary shackles of my past as well as present. To allow the shackles of life to stagnate one from expressing them self or acting in a way that pleases him/her is a form of self abuse or victimizing self.
The poem says ” Contemporary days are re-invented”. The meaning of that statement to me means growth has not been developed or the lesson not learned. Therefore the shackles remain and continues to stagnate growth.

When writing my poetry, I am always amazed and honored when something that I have written resonates with others’ and their experiences. There is power in your interpretation and I encourage you to build on that power as you continue to remove and release yourself from those shackles of “the past as well as present.”
